Research Interests and Activities

  • Environmental Sociology : human impacts, project evaluation, program development, also different aspects of the relationship human recreation has with the outdoors
  • Immersed in my current grant work
  • Always trying to keep an ear open for current environmental issues and research projects underway in the northeast.

My current research involves a project entitled: Changing Homeowner’s Lawn Care Behavior to Reduce the Nutrient Losses in New England’s Urbanizing Watersheds. My advisor and I are working with a project team in order to change the fertilization practices of home owner’s in order to reduce nitrogen and phosphorous run off into New England’s watersheds. I have been thrown into the world of results based research and team oriented project development. I find that as I progress in graduate classes and also in my professional work that I made the right decision in merging my interests and passions with my future goals and professional aspirations. I would finish by saying that I feel privileged to be a part of the Center for the Environment here at Plymouth.
